Immunity Building Homemade Chyawanprash

Chawanprash at home, yes you heard it right !!

 

Amlas are in season, and also it makes great immunity booster, doesn’t take long to make and can be stored for a month.You will need:

  1. Amla puree – 200gms ( Steamed and pureed Amla)
  2. Jaggery – 200gms
  3. Ghee – 4 tbsp
  4. Nutmix – 4 tbsp ( Roasted Almonds, Pistachios, Cashews , few saffron strands and make powder)
  5. Spice mix ingredients
    1. Bay leaf – 1
    2. Clove -4
    3. Cardamom-4
    4. Ginger – 1/2 inch
    5. Nutmeg- 1/4th
    6. Black peppercons – 7
    7. Fennel seeds – 1tbsp
    8. Cumin – 1tbsp
    9. Cinnamon – 1/2inch

After adding ghee in a pan add the steamed and grinded amla and saute till it gets properly cooked for approximately 5 to 6 minutes. Add grinded and sieved spices, nut powder and cook for again 6-7 minutes. Add jaggery and cook for 7-10 minutes. Keep stirring continuously. let it cool down completely and then transfer it in Glass jar.

IMPORTANT:- Not recommended for Children below 1 year of age.
